I'd only add that the Fed is very self serving as a privately owned institution. Who are the owners? Why, so far as we know, the very banks being bailed out! Hmmm. Print money. Record bonuses doing deals with that money. When the bubble they create shifting the good economy into hot money bubble activities collapses, they get their rear ends bailed out. No wonder Henry Ford said in the 1920s, "Its well enough the people of this country don't understand the true nature of their banking system, for if they did there would be a revolution overnight.
